Most apps want your time. Joyn wants to get you off your phone and into the court, the cafe, the street, the park.
Browse plans by time, distance, interest, and availability — hosted by people you can check before you go.
Review the host, cost, venue, participants, restrictions, and reliability before joining or requesting approval.
Use the activity chat, check in safely, review the experience, and join the next recurring session.
Members get a clear read on the plan and the people before they commit. Hosts get the tools to fill a session, run it, and bring the same group back next week.
Pick a template and the title, cap, cost and duration are already filled. Add the place and time, switch on repeat, and publish a weekly series in one tap.
Every host carries a public record: plans run, show-up rate, and reviews from people who were actually there.
Recurring series with a next-session link and optional auto-join keep a weekly group alive without re-inviting everyone.
Approved participants get a group chat for timing, travel and last-minute changes. Nobody's phone number is shared.
Every plan gets a web page and a deep link. Post it in a WhatsApp group or a story and it opens straight in the app.
Hosts will set a price, members pay by UPI with the platform fee shown up front, and the host is paid after the session has happened. Not available yet; free plans stay free.
Illustrative examples of the formats Joyn supports. In the app, availability, host details, approval rules, and timing come from the actual plan.
You are meeting strangers in a city. So every member clears a set of checks before they can join, hosts clear more before they can host, and money will only ever move after a plan has happened.
One-time password to an Indian mobile number. It is never shown to another member.
Date of birth is required. Under-18 sign-ups are refused before the app opens.
Name, photo and city are mandatory. No blank accounts in the feed.
A liveness test taken in the moment. Screens, prints and old photos fail. This earns the verified badge and unlocks women-only plans.
Verified against a government ID through DigiLocker. We keep the outcome, never the document or the number.
Five checks before anyone can join. The verified badge follows you onto every plan.
Restricted and women-only plans can only be hosted by a verified person. Women-only means a verified woman host and verified women attendees.
The host checks in at the venue, attendees confirm they were there, reviews land after. No-shows and late cancels count against the host.
Casual after a first plan. Verified once the liveness check passes and completed plans stack up with high attendance. It cannot be bought or edited.
Legal name, PAN and a bank account verified by penny-drop, before a single paid ticket is sold.
Ticket money sits with an RBI-authorised payment aggregator and moves to the host once the plan has actually happened.
Standing is earned from plans you actually ran. It is public, and it cannot be bought.
Approval-only plans hide the venue and the guest list until the host says yes.
Verified women only, host approval required, enforced by the app, not by trust.
Others see "2 km away", never where you are standing.
Set a "tell me you got home" timer. Miss it and the app escalates to someone you chose. The group never sees it.
Reports go to a named Grievance Officer, not a queue.
Joyn opens city by city, with credible hosts and enough plans to make the app useful on day one. Big metros first, then the traveller hubs where people are already looking for something to join.
Tell us where you are and whether you want to join plans or host them. We open each city once there are enough credible hosts to make the first week worth showing up for.
No spam. We email you when Joyn opens in your city.
The questions people ask most about how Joyn works, what it costs, and how we keep meeting strangers sane.
Joyn is an app for finding real plans near you in urban India, and the people hosting them. You can browse badminton games, run clubs, treks, chai meetups, board game nights, coworking sessions, and classes happening close by, check the host before you commit, and join in a couple of taps.
Yes. Joyn is free to download, and joining plans on Joyn is free. Paid tickets and host payouts are coming soon and are not available yet; when a plan costs money today, participants settle it directly with the host or the venue.
Joyn is opening city by city and is not live everywhere yet. The first cities are Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai, followed by traveller hubs like Goa and Jaipur. If your city is not on the list, join the early-access list and tell us where you would use it.
Hosts verify their identity with a live selfie check, so a verified badge means a real, present person rather than a recycled photo. On top of that, every host carries a public track record: plans hosted, attendance reliability, and reviews from people who actually turned up.
Yes. Instructors, run clubs, trek organisers, guides, and creators can host on Joyn using plan templates, recurring series, approval-only joining, and a shareable plan page for every session. Hosting is free, and paid ticketing is coming soon.
Joyn is built around who is hosting, not just what is listed. Every plan shows a verified host with a reliability record and reviews, coordination happens in an activity group chat without anyone sharing a phone number, and recurring series keep a group going instead of a one-off event dying in a thread.
No. Joyn is activity-first: sports, food, outdoors, culture, coworking, and social plans. Romantic or sexual solicitation violates the Community Guidelines.
Your phone number is never shown. Nearby People uses coarse distance bands, and approval-only activities hide their exact venue until you are approved.
Women-only plans require a verified woman host, verified women attendees, and host approval before joining. Restricted plans do not reveal participant identities or the exact venue to outsiders.
Every activity has Safety tools for sharing the plan, setting a private check-in, opening the Safety Centre, and reaching 112 or the women's helpline at 1091.
Join the early-access list and tell us your city. Joyn is opening deliberately, city by city, so each launch has enough credible hosts and plans.
