Who this applies to
This policy covers tickets bought through Joyn for a specific, dated, in-person plan run by a host on Joyn. It applies to members who buy tickets and to hosts who sell them, and it forms part of the Terms of Service.
If the host cancels
If a host cancels a plan, or changes its date, time or venue so that you can no longer attend, you get a full refund, including the platform fee, automatically. You do not need to ask. The refund is triggered the moment the host cancels in the app.
Hosts who cancel late or repeatedly lose reliability standing and may lose the ability to sell tickets.
If you cancel
Every paid plan shows one of three cancellation policies chosen by the host before you pay. The windows are measured from the plan's scheduled start time.
| Policy | Full refund | Half refund | No refund |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flexible | Cancel up to 24 hours before | — | Within 24 hours of start |
| Moderate | Cancel up to 72 hours before | Between 72 and 24 hours before | Within 24 hours of start |
| Strict | Cancel up to 7 days before | — | Within 7 days of start |
- A "full refund" means the ticket price and the platform fee.
- A "half refund" means half the ticket price; the platform fee is refunded in full.
- Not turning up is treated as cancelling within the no-refund window.
- You cancel from the plan page in the app. The refund is issued on cancellation, not after the plan date.
Weather, permits and things nobody controls
Treks, outdoor sessions and anything dependent on a venue or a permit can be called off for reasons outside the host's control. In that case the host must either reschedule and let you move your ticket at no cost, or refund you in full. A host may not replace a refund with a credit unless you choose that.
How refunds are paid
- Refunds go back to the original payment method (UPI, card or net banking).
- We initiate the refund immediately. Banks and card networks then take 5 to 7 business days to show it; UPI refunds are usually faster.
- You will get an email and an in-app notification with the refund reference.
- Refunds are processed by our RBI-authorised payment partner. Joyn never holds your money in its own bank account.
Disputes
If a plan did not happen as described, the host did not turn up, or you were refused entry, write to grievance@joynhub.com within 7 days of the plan date with the plan link and what happened.
- We acknowledge within 48 hours and decide within 15 days.
- While a dispute is open, the host's payout for that ticket stays on hold, so a refund is always possible.
- Evidence we look at: host and attendee check-ins, chat history, the plan's edit history, and any photos you send.
- If we find against the host, you are refunded in full and the host's reliability score records it.
For hosts
- You choose the policy per plan; it cannot be changed after the first ticket is sold.
- Your share is transferred to your verified bank account after the plan has taken place and attendance is recorded, typically within two working days.
- Cancelling a plan refunds every ticket in full automatically, including the platform fee. Joyn does not deduct the fee from you when you cancel in good time.
- Chargebacks raised by a member's bank are investigated the same way as disputes. If the chargeback stands, the amount is recovered from your next payout.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes are announced in the app and on this page at least 30 days before they take effect, and never apply to tickets already bought.
