The basics
Joyn is operated by Datapuls AI Services Private Limited ("Joyn", "we", "us"), a company registered in India with offices at Building No. 60, EG Block, Inderpuri, New Delhi 110012, India.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of:
- the Joyn mobile application,
- the joynhub.com website, and
- all features, APIs, and services we provide (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Joyn, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. Together these form a legally binding agreement between you and Joyn.
Eligibility
You may use Joyn only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have the legal capacity to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
- You are not barred from using the Service under any applicable law or a prior Joyn action (e.g. a permanent ban).
- You are a real human — no bots, no scripts, no automated agents.
We reserve the right to require proof of age at any time.
Your account
- You sign in with your phone number and a one-time password (OTP).
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- Keep your device and SIM secure. If you suspect your account has been compromised, email hello@joynhub.com immediately.
- One person, one account. Duplicate accounts may be removed without notice.
- You must provide accurate profile information. Misrepresenting who you are (photo, age, gender, location) is grounds for termination and, where relevant, legal action.
- Some features require identity verification through a short selfie liveness check in the app — for example hosting certain plans and joining women-only or men-only plans. Verification is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Attempting to pass verification for someone else, or with someone else's likeness, is a serious breach of these Terms.
- Joyn includes activity group chats and direct messages. They exist to coordinate plans. Messages are subject to automated moderation and to the Community Guidelines, and participants can report them.
What Joyn is (and isn't)
Joyn is a platform that connects people who want to do things together in the same city. We are an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
We provide the place where plans are shared. Showing up, interacting, splitting costs, and leaving safely are between you and the other participants. Read the Safety Centre before your first meetup — it exists for a reason.
Your content
You may create activities, share photos, add a bio, leave reviews, and send reports ("User Content").
What you keep
You retain all rights to your User Content.
What you grant us
By posting User Content on Joyn, you grant Joyn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display that content only for the purpose of operating, improving, and marketing the Service (including in-app previews, web preview cards for shared links, and safety-related moderation).
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for:
- copies retained in moderation or legal records where we are required to keep them,
- copies that other users have already shared or screenshotted, which are beyond our control, and
- anonymised, aggregated analytics that no longer identify you.
You do not grant us the right to use your face, name, or likeness in external paid advertising without your separate consent.
What you promise
When you post on Joyn, you promise that the content:
- is yours to post (you own it or have permission),
- is truthful and not misleading,
- does not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights,
- complies with our Community Guidelines, and
- does not violate any law.
What you may not do
You agree not to, and not to let anyone else, use Joyn to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users;
- post sexual content, hate speech, incitement, terror content, or content harmful to minors;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation;
- share other users' personal data (phone, address, photos) without permission;
- promote, solicit, or engage in illegal activity;
- run commercial activity, paid promotions, prostitution, MLMs, dropshipping pitches, crypto/forex solicitations, or recruitment drives without prior written permission from Joyn;
- scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, decompile, or bulk-extract data from the Service;
- circumvent rate limits, blocks, bans, or access controls;
- upload malware, viruses, or content designed to harm our systems or users;
- interfere with the Service's operation, servers, or network; or
- use the Service in any way that violates Indian law or the law where you use it.
Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, permanent ban, content removal, account deletion, and — where serious — reporting to law enforcement.
Safety and conduct at meetups
- You are responsible for your own safety. Meet in public, well-lit places for first-time activities. Tell a friend.
- Joyn is not a chaperone. We are not physically present at any meetup.
- Report unsafe behaviour. Use the in-app report flow or email grievance@joynhub.com.
- Hosts are responsible for the plans they create. Describing an activity accurately, turning up, and treating participants respectfully is on the host.
- Attendees are responsible for showing up. Chronic no-shows may be flagged, throttled, or banned.
- Disputes between users (splits, damages, injuries, disagreements) are between those users. Joyn will cooperate with law enforcement when required.
See our Community Guidelines and Safety Centre for detail.
Fees
Joyn is currently free to use. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll give you clear notice in the app before any charges apply, and you'll never be charged without explicit opt-in.
Any money exchanged between users at a meetup today (court fees, food bills, trek costs) is strictly between them. Joyn is not a payment intermediary and does not handle, hold, or guarantee such payments.
When paid plans launch (they are not live yet): a host may set a ticket price for a specific, dated plan; the platform fee is shown before you pay; payment is collected by an RBI-authorised payment aggregator into its nodal or escrow account and never by Joyn's own bank account; the host's share is released only after the plan has taken place; and cancellations and refunds are governed by the Cancellations and Refunds policy, which forms part of these Terms. Hosts who sell tickets must complete payout onboarding (legal name, PAN, verified bank account) before their first sale.
Intellectual property
All intellectual property in the Joyn app, website, branding, designs, code, and content we create is owned by Datapuls AI Services Private Limited or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Joyn for its intended purpose.
You may not:
- use our name, logo, or branding without written permission,
- remove any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices, or
- create derivative works from the Service.
"Joyn" is our trademark.
Reports, takedowns, and enforcement
We take user reports seriously. If you believe content on Joyn:
- infringes your intellectual property — email grievance@joynhub.com with (a) the original work, (b) the allegedly infringing item, (c) your contact information, and (d) a statement of good-faith belief in accordance with the IT Rules, 2021.
- violates a court order or law — email grievance@joynhub.com with the legal basis.
- is otherwise harmful — use in-app report or email grievance@joynhub.com.
We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours and act within 15 days as required by the IT Rules, 2021.
Suspension and termination
By you
Delete your account anytime via Settings → Delete Account in the app, via joynhub.com/delete-account, or by emailing hello@joynhub.com. We process deletions within 30 days, subject to retention rules in the Privacy Policy.
By us
We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or limit features — with or without prior notice — if we reasonably believe you:
- violated these Terms or Community Guidelines,
- pose a safety risk to other users,
- created a fraudulent, duplicate, or automated account, or
- triggered a legal request that requires us to act.
Serious violations may result in permanent bans. We may retain minimal records (your user ID, the reason, the date) to enforce the ban.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant or endorse any user, activity, host, or venue on Joyn. Profiles, descriptions, and reviews are provided by users; we make reasonable efforts to moderate but cannot guarantee accuracy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:
- Joyn, our officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, goodwill, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
- Joyn is not liable for the acts or omissions of other users, including but not limited to harassment, fraud, injury, loss, or any offline consequence of a meetup arranged via the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) ₹2,000 (Indian Rupees two thousand) or (b) the amount you paid Joyn in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law (including for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Joyn and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- your violation of these Terms,
- your User Content,
- your interactions with other users (online or offline), or
- your violation of any law or third-party right.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Talk to us first
Before filing any formal claim, please contact us at grievance@joynhub.com. Most issues get resolved faster over email than in a courtroom. We commit to engaging in good-faith informal dispute resolution for at least 30 days.
Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996:
- A sole arbitrator mutually agreed upon, or failing agreement, appointed under the Act.
- Seat and venue: [ARBITRATION_SEAT_CITY], India.
- Language: English.
- The arbitral award shall be final and binding on both parties.
Courts
Subject to the arbitration clause above, the courts at Delhi, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter that is not subject to arbitration.
No class actions
To the extent permitted by law, you agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis, not as a class, collective, or representative action.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app and on joynhub.com at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, delete your account before the effective date.
Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines are the entire agreement between you and Joyn regarding the Service.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or corporate restructuring.
- Notices. We send notices to the email associated with your account or in-app. You may send notices to hello@joynhub.com.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, government actions, network outages, etc.).
- Contractor relationship. No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment is created by these Terms.
- Headings. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
