Leaving Joyn?

No problem. You can delete your account from inside the app or request it right here. No hoops, no guilt-trippy retention screens — we just need to confirm it's really you.

Option 1 — Inside the app

Fastest path. Open Joyn → Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You'll confirm with an OTP and we'll start the process immediately.

what gets deleted

Your account, fully

  • Your profile — name, photo, bio, interests, languages, city
  • Your phone number and any linked auth data
  • Activities you created and your participant records
  • Trips you planned and matches made
  • Photos and uploads linked to your account
  • Notifications, device tokens, and in-app preferences
  • Your block list and blocks you've received
what we keep briefly

And what we can't delete

  • Moderation & safety records

    If your account was the subject of a report, we retain minimal records (account ID, the reason, the date) to enforce bans and cooperate with law enforcement. This is required by the IT Rules, 2021.

  • Transactional logs

    Anonymised server logs (for security and abuse prevention) are kept for up to 90 days before automatic deletion.

  • Financial & legal records

    If we ever introduce paid features, tax and accounting records must be kept per Indian law. Today, this doesn't apply.

  • Public content others received

    We can't pull back content that others already saw, screenshotted, or shared off-platform. We can only remove it from our side.

The timeline

    You submit the request

    Fill the form below with the phone number your account is registered to, and a contact email.

  2. 2

    We verify it's you

    You'll get a confirmation email within 48 hours. We verify via OTP or a secondary check to make sure no one else is requesting deletion on your behalf.

  3. 3

    We delete your data

    Once verified, your profile, activities, participant records, photos, and local app data are deleted from our systems within 30 days.

  4. 4

    We confirm completion

    You get a final email once deletion is complete. After that, your account is gone and cannot be restored.
