Each December the tribes of Nagaland gather at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama, just outside Kohima, for ten days of dances, folk songs, games, local food and handmade crafts. Days are for wandering between the tribal morungs, trying smoked pork and rice beer, and browsing textiles, bamboo work and beadwork. Evenings bring live music in town. It is a festival best done as a small group trip, splitting a homestay and spending a few days in the hills.
