Every winter the salt flats of the White Rann host Rann Utsav, a tent city with folk music, Kutchi crafts and the vast white desert under a full moon. It works best as a group trip: a couple of nights in the tents, sunset on the Rann, and side trips to Dholavira and the craft villages around Bhuj. Plan around a full moon if you can, when the salt glows after dark.
